Describe Hardware Documentation/JetStor RAID Arrays here.

Overview

Support serial console and web interface. Currently have only tested the serial console interface.

Get to Menu

  1. Connect to serial console
  2. Press Ctrl-D to refresh screen
  3. Tab to the MENU section
  4. Press 'Enter' and enter the password.

RAID Setup

  1. Under the Main Menu choose RAID Params
  2. Choose the array that you want to change
  3. Choose 'Re-Conf RAID' and choose 'YES' (if you don't do this, none of the changes you make will stay)
  4. Under 'RAID Level' choose the RAID Level you want, or NONE to delete the array.
  5. Under 'Disk Number' choose the number of disks that will be part of the array. You cannot specifically choose what disks to add, only the number to add.
  6. You probably only want one slice. A slice is a partition of an array. NOTE: Max slice size is 2 TB. My suggestion is to keep array size under this as well, but it is not necessary.
  7. Go back to the 'Main Menu', and choose 'NVRAM'.
  8. Then choose 'Update NVRAM' to save your changes. If you don't do this, you will lose your changes.

Turn Off Beeper

If the beeper on an array is sounding, you can turn it off either on the front control panel, there should be a button with the mute icon in blue. Simply press Ctrl then that button. You can also turn off the beeper from the serial console by choosing 'RAID Funcs' -> 'Beeper' -> 'Clear' from the 'Main Menu'.

Manual

The only way to get the manual is from the manufacturer's website, which requires registration of the JetStors. As of this writing we haven't done this, and don't plan on it. There was a copy of an older manual on the web which covers most of the serial console interface in detail, and should work for configuration questions. js3ide14.pdf
