  • Demosplash Planning Meetings

    • Have started, directly after GBMs (18:00).
  • Budget

    • Has been resolved!
    • Due to some weirdness, they thought Demosplash was a capital expense.
    • Also, we apparently got the budget for an oscilloscope, despite what our rep last year told us. So we need to buy this (and an MSX).
    • Budget for 2017-18 located here.

  • Retro Game Night:

    • Got CUC Rangos for Saturday, 03 March (16:00-23:30), enough time for setup and teardown.

    • No machine room that night, because everyone will be in the UC.
    • tparenti is putting together a poster.
    • Prof. Franchetti wants to hear when this happens; he's interested in our hardware.
  • Talk series

    • Next up is stroucki (Virtualization in Practice), next week Wednesday.
    • fseidel will be sending an email out to members@ and the recruiting lists to announce these.
    • Pizza is the same Rialto order as always. It's pre-tipped, so all we have to do is sign the receipt.
    • Talk schedule (and presenters) can be found here.

    • Structure of series:
      • Bi-weekly: allows for higher quality talks
      • Will be on Wednesdays at 20:00
  • Elections
    • Are coming up on 20 March.
    • Will start announcing that soon!
  • Air Conditioner

    • AC work order marked as "Complete" last Friday, then "Done" on Sunday. Will give it another look sometime next week.
  • 0xDEADBEEF
    • Proposed date: Saturday afternoon (12:00-14:00), 28 April.
    • Correction: tjjohans will put in a reservation for one of the tables outside the UC.
    • Need to figure out how to rent a grill.
  • Member Retainment Ideas
    • Proposed: an informal series of check-ins/meetings (actual name TBD) once a month or so focusing on maintaining VMs, geared toward the orgs that actually use our machines. Maybe start this sometime after spring break, and offer tea?
    • PGH Supercomputing Center tour (Prof. Franchetti offered to get us in touch)
