SIO2SD

This is a device that emulates Atari floppy drives. It's connects to the SIO port via the attached pigtail. (If you're using it with the hacked-up 130XE from Australia, plug it into the bottom port. The top port doesn't seem to work.)

Nobody can remember how to use it. Here is what the buttons do (cribbed from this page):

Button(s)

Function

K1

next atari drive (D1,D2,..)

SHIFT+K1

previous atari drive (D1,D2,..)

K2

next file/folder

SHIFT+K2

previous file/folder

K3

parent directory (cd ..)

SHIFT+K3

swap D1 and D2

K4

go to folder/map file to current atari drive

SHIFT+K4

turn off current atari drive ("eject disk")

It's also possible to have it load a program that runs on the Atari that lets you manipulate the mappings. To access that function, hold the SHIFT button when powering the Atari on. However, it's pretty darn hard to use with non-intuitive key combinations and annoying behavior. See attached PDF for a PC-readable version of its help file.

Disable BASIC ROM

Hold down the OPTION button when powering the machine on or selecting a disk image from the SIO2SD configurator program.

This is required for some (most?) demos.

Audio/Video

Our PAL 130XE has an S-video output. However, since this is an Atari, a lot of things don't like its signal.

A Framemeister will work.

Audio is a single male RCA connector (mono).
