Agenda

  1. Service issues
    1. Boron power whoops
      1. Checked newer Dell RAM.
      2. Pulled out boron's RAM
      3. Put back ram.
      4. Didn't actually turn on boron successfully afterward.
      5. Half of contrib was down for a day and a half as a result.
    2. We need to re-rack machines because Boron makes Carbon inaccessible.
    3. Keith should have followed own rule about checking monitor for machine up again when restarting machine.
  2. News
    1. News has queues block up.
    2. Cron job to restart news fails.
    3. Issue compounded by monitor being down.
  3. Wiki can be reconfigured from wiki-old to wiki-old.
  4. Sausage
    1. Disk death -> exploded.

  5. Xen Deaths
    1. More RAM would fix??
    2. Possible weirder things will result but...
  6. Service upgrades
    1. We are wary of upgrading IMAP.
      1. In theory, cyrus IMAP should be separable from cyrus.
      2. Cyrus IMAP in debian requires krb5.
    2. libkrb5 from MIT works with heimdall, but dev files don't coexist.
    3. bincimapd -> dovecot

    4. limesurvey needs mysql 4.1
      1. Cadmium will have mysql 5.
  7. Bill Gates
    1. Windows 3.0 manual and/or poster for signing.
    2. Someone must get that manual.
  8. Project ideas
    1. Documentation of old things?
    2. Probably using DMCA safe haven.
  9. Budgeting (see also Purchasing Plans )

    1. Thank the lord for the extension of budgeting.
    2. Met with JFC rep on friday.
      1. Will probably be helpful.
      2. We need to add more amiga-type stuff so that some remains after cuts.
    3. For future good machines, we need to buy RAM.
      1. Issues can come up with large amounts of RAM (i.e. in BiOS)
      2. The machines being server class may cut down on such issues.
    4. In terms of cutting down on RAM expenditures, GX110s should be first to go.
    5. Dongles & Green Cables

      1. Probably good to get.
    6. Do we need Disks?
      1. Resoundingly "Maybe".
    7. Also:
      1. Atari?
      2. We can make minor purchases.
      3. Amiga -- should be purchased as soon as possible next year.
  10. Magnesium may or may not be borked.
  11. Disking:
    1. Gateways may have space for disks.
  12. Room needs cleaning!
  13. Event
    1. Should be next week? Wednesday?
    2. We should poke Morgan Stanley about the intended second talk.
    3. Collossus? Sneakers?
