Club root password:

• create hashing script thing discussed last week
  regularly rotate root passwords on all machines

  • sbaugh makes "root of our problems" joke
  stroucki suggests writing a shell script to generate a hash of the root password which is sent to the machines securely over ssh cpreseau:

  • use hashing scheme
    change passwords every time we elect new officers
    new president appoints password keeper for next year (can be him/herself)
    president decides how many people hold key
    algorithm will be decided at machine room grantwu will write script

Wiki:

• Currently have MoinMoin wiki/Trac wiki
  sbaugh modified the default ACLs to be more open
  (sbaugh demos new stuff)
  sbaugh will be in charge of creating more fully featured demo with proper search, categories, ACLs, etc...
  lroop: we have stuff we need to clean from the wiki
  We shouldn't commit to transitioning to IkiWiki until we have a more polished demo
