    • we are actively setting up Usenet peering

    • Setting up a documented kvm server install
    • stroucki and areese used KVM 04 as an example, added new documentation
      • storage isn't RAIDed, documentation needs to describe how to set up RAID, NTP, smart checks, and networking

  • New rack installation, replacing Rack 0

    • This Sat, 13 Feb:
      • Move all machines
        • backups, tungsten, gadolinium to Rack 4
          • backups can be moved at any time
          • wikium can be moved at any time
          • tungsten and gadolinium run a lot of services
            • don't have simultaneous downtime on both
          • mailservers and nameservers will have short downtime
            • we might be able to get downtime down to a few seconds
        • wikium to Rack 5 or 6, whichever space allows
      • These machines house 2/3 mailservers, 2/3 nameservers, 1/2 web nodes, 1/2 load balancers, IMAP, AFS volumes, Nagios, Jabber, wiki
    • Try to move network switch as well
      • Minimal (or no) downtime to each machine should be needed
      • This could still affect performance of visible services, so send an announcement anyway

      • What to do with switch and power distribution still on the old rack
      • How to remove old rack, set up new rack
      • Which machines to move to new rack
