Demosplash Planning Meetings
- Have started already, directly after GBMs (18:00). See Demosplash meeting minutes for link to the Hangouts call.
Power Cutoffs
- There was a high voltage line servicing PH that failed on Friday, 02 Feb. Secondary power is on, but the source is also the backup for several buildings, including CYH.
- Two shutdowns to all the affected buildings
- Consensus seems to be on 03 March (3h shutdown, 19:00-22:00), and weekend of 10 March (12h shutdown).
- First shutdown directly on top of Retro Game Night.
- May be okay if we finish setting up beforehand and tear down afterwards (plus shutting down), and if they start and finish on time.
- Will wait to hear back to discuss further.
Retro Game Night:
Got CUC Rangos for Saturday, 03 March (16:00-23:30), enough time for setup and teardown.
- Posters have started popping up around campus.
- Prof. Franchetti wants to hear when this happens; he's interested in our hardware.
Talk series
- Next up is Prof. Nicolas Christin (Cryptocurrencies) next week Wednesday.
- For some reason we got two Hawaiian pizzas, Catherine apologized :P
- We're trying the cheeseburger pizza next week; we'll see how it goes!
- fseidel will be sending an email out to members@ and the recruiting lists to announce these.
Green Hills still hasn't responded. Catherine says not to worry, so jocelynh will continue sending them biweekly updates.
Talk schedule (and presenters) can be found here.
