Room Logistics

• GBMs confirmed Tuesdays 18:00-18:30ish in WEH 5316
• Demosplash meetings in the same room from 18:30 onwards. (Though we're in Hunt 106C today).
• tjjohans will talk to Catherine about a talk room (our reservation from July was largely ignored...)

Activities Fair

• We got 99 names, a few more at the introductory meeting.
• tjjohans's poster got a lot of attention, good job :P

Text Editor Holy War

• Need to find a time to meet to hash out ideas
• tjjohans will make a whenisgood/when2meet/doodle/whatever

Introductory Meeting Post-Mortem

• Seemed to go pretty well, Quiznos was good and on time
• fseidel will get the receipt to Catherine tomorrow
• tjjohans has ideas for the coming few weeks, including a "Learning Bash" for this coming Saturday (an amusing poster is in progress)

Talk series

• Every other week, since that worked well last semester.
• Prospective Talks:

  • Buzzwords in 60 Minutes (maybe this one first as an introductory talk)

  • Power Computing at CMU

  • Data Ethics (jocelynh has emailed Professor Nugent, awaiting response)

  • You Have Been Lied To: The Deceitful History of Computer Architecture (fseidel)

• Maybe also record slides and audio, or have some sort of videoconferencing set up for people who can't make it
  • Should talk to Catherine about which rooms have videoconferencing hardware
• Food?
  • Will talk to Jeff Dille once rooms/dates are more solid
