Moon Bash is this week, Demosplash is in 2.5 weeks! Life sure is eventful, isn't it?
Even More Events?!
- Movie night? Pretty low-effort to run, the hardest part tends to be picking a movie.
- Blowing up capacitors? We can talk about this later.
- On the opposite side: an electronics repair tutorial? Skills applicable to fixing electronics in general.
- Perhaps we should send out a survey. But general consensus is that we should hold events after Demosplash in order to not murder organizers.
- Have an idea? Let us know!
Moon Bash
- (AKA demo screening, Componium compatibility tests)
- Tomorrow (Wednesday 17 Oct.), in The Luis von Ahn Awesome Classroom (GHC 4101) at 19:30.
- fseidel and jocelynh loaded Componium onto a dolly with a keyboard, mouse, and monitor for easy transport tomorrow.
- Shoutout to tjjohans for the great posters.
Talk series
- Pretty good turnout to the talk last week! Nice.
- Still waiting to hear back from Prof Eckhardt about a "The Bad Thing" talk, fseidel will prod him about it tomorrow.
- Other Prospective Talks:
Power Computing at CMU
- Prof. Nace "still owes us a talk," possibly on reconfigurable logic.
Given that last week's talk (Buzzword Soup) overlapped with multiple company tech talks, we should do an encore performance after a cooldown period.
"Spending and Budgets"
- fseidel has filled out the declaration of intent form for F19.
- fseidel held off going to PCard hours since the mailing list hadn't reached a consensus on what to do with the remaining $250.
- Capture card it is, no objections.
- Everything should be ordered on Friday.
