Welcome back to normal meetings! No GBM next week, have a nice Thanksgiving!
Rerecognition
- fseidel has filled out the form on The Bridge, so we'll be recognized as an existing club.
Budget "Fun"
- Turns out FMS never refunded us after the first (incorrect) charge from power upgrades, Tiffany emailed the relevant people.
- As of now, we still haven't been refunded; if we haven't heard back by Friday fseidel might pop in and talk to Tiffany again.
- In the meantime, fseidel will revive the thread yet again.
Talk series
- We should get a talk schedule together for next semester ASAP.
- "Keep badgering me" -- Prof. Eckhardt (c'mon fseidel)
- At this point, it might be worth setting this up for next semester so we have talks planned in advance.
- Other Prospective Talks:
Power Computing at CMU
- Prof. Nace "still owes us a talk," possibly on reconfigurable logic. He's been pretty busy this semester so that may have to wait until the spring semester.
- Security and embedded systems? (Professor Koopman)
- Security and hardware? (Professor Blanton)
- Buzzword Soup encore?
Movie Night
- There aren't that many available Wednesdays before finals week, so maybe 5 December or just stick with one movie night (during finals week as is traditional)
Potluck
- 8 December! Be prepared and think of food.
- We will probably put together a spreadsheet before it happens.
Operations
- We had our first demo coders meeting re a new Vectrex demo last Saturday.
Minutes will probably be sent out soon... (Email democoders-subscribe@club.cc.cmu.edu if you want in!)
- Targeting @party in June.
- VM migrations have been going smoothly.
- 2/4 daemon engines migrated, and a third will be migrated this Saturday (holding tartan:mail and cmr-win).
- tartanfs will remain on engine1 for the foreseeable future until they figure out if they still want it.
- tjjohans will be using a few VMs for a research project (will be discussed Saturday)
- We had our first demo coders meeting re a new Vectrex demo last Saturday.
