hphux is an HP 9000/300 with NetBSD 0.9 installed on it. It originally came from the psych. department's machine room in baker hall, whence it was salvaged around 1995. It's an architecturally significant machine of the end of the 80s or early 90s. It currently is lacking the special HP terminal that was its original console, but there are rumors that it is possible to get a serial console on them. Project for the future. It will boot up, and should NOT be connected to the network when it is booted - it will configure itself with a 128.2.x.x ip address! The root password is no longer known, but isildur/p0g0ni should work as a login if someone wants to take a crack (hah) at it. Hphux is the machine pictured here: http://www.vaxpower.org/~isildur/hp9000.jpeg .
