Old samarium is a microVAX with a lot of serial ports (16 or 24 of them), which served for a while as a console server before the portmasters. It is in a floor-standing enclosure with wheels. It has been offline for a long time and the name samarium has been recycled. If nothing else it has important spare parts for plutonium (and possibly even thorium), especially a Qbus SCSI card, which are quite rare.
